As a mortgage broker, I am only paid if your mortgage is funded. Many lenders pay this fee so that you the borrower do not incur any cost for the strategic mortgage advice, research, and service that I provide. However, in some situations, the best product available could be with a lender that does not pay the fee. In these cases, your mortgage product options and a comparison of the total costs will be presented to you first so that you can decide if you wish to continue with me as your mortgage advisor. Only once the mortgage is funded would you be responsible for paying the fee.
